       The focus of current research is on understanding the mechanistic basis for responses to environmental stresses, specifically chemical pollutants, in different organism, including microalgae and earthworm. Investigations are undertaken at various levels of biological organization from the molecular to the whole organism, but with particular emphasis on physiological and cellular processes.
